Get Drunk, Fall and Get $2.3 Million

A 25-year-old man fell onto the tracks of a subway train after getting drunk during a hockey game at a bar. A train ran over him and severed his right leg. His lawyer claimed the subway driver had time to stop, and a jury awarded him $2.3 million. Read more about it at:

What would America do without lawyers? I'm glad I became a journalist and now a journalism educator! :)

That's the problem with people these days. Trial lawyers and liberals are sue happy. I love how someone can break into your house and get hurt (dog bite, fall, get shot) and then sue you for damages. As one of my law professors in college so kindly told us, shoot to kill! I think it is pretty ironic that if you have a "Beware of Dog" sign it acknowledges the fact that you know your dog could bite and you could be sued if it bites someone. Obviously the purpose of the sign is to warn people. Nothing like being an idiot and spilling hot coffee on yourself. Then suing McDonalds. What's the world coming to? What happened to personal responsibility and accountability?
